The climate and the flora

 The mild climate favoured the growing of some Mediterranean plants (among which the olive tree), and it contributed to render the Lake Garda an important international touristic destination. The gentle climate of the lake has been celebrated by men of letters, travellers and hosts who in the course of the centuries discovered this zone. Here the average temperature unlikely goes down under the zero, allowing to some typically Mediterranean plants, like the olive tree, the holm oak, the oak but also the palms, the lemons and the agaves, to prosper, near to a typical alpine flora. It is the lake, that is heated in summer and cedes heat in winter, that attenuate the thermal excursion, contributing to create a completely exceptional microclimate.
